Composed entirely during nap-times, Husband's "Material" uses in-home field recordings, vinyl samples, and repurposed toys (not to mention saxophone, guitar, vocals...), to convey the artist's experience of Year One as father and primary caregiver to a baby girl. Recorded in the thick of it, beginning in month 2, the sleep deprivation, panic, apprehension, and claustrophobia is never far from the surface, but neither is the beauty, or love. The world being as it is, much of the album is about trying to be a good parent in the absence of hope.

Any sales made on Thursday May 2 will go towards bail funds for campus protestors, sales after Friday will go to the JVP.

Before donning the moniker "Husband" for this project, Elias was "Big Voyage", a longtime member of the Circus Records roster best known for his Flux Pavilion collaboration "Shoot Me" as well as blog-era "Future RnB" classic "Cora Pearl". More recently he has collaborated with Italian producer and Hyperdub alum Mana on power ambient/ dark jazz album "Note On Reliquology", which came out on Lucia Dischi in late 2023.
